For my son’s 18th birthday/graduation gift, I booked us a trip to Colorado. It was a place that my son had always wanted to visit because he loves hiking and fishing. It was a perfect destination for him.
We planned out our visit as the trip neared. We’d be gone for a week. I booked a few days of fly fishing with a guide, and arranged to rent all of our gear. My son had only ever done regular spin fishing, so this would be a whole new experience for him. He was excited.
I had my own fly fishing things at home, but we were flying and it would be too much of a hassle to try and bring my stuff. It was much easier to just rent everything when we reached our destination.
